RACING LEGEND AND BUSINESSMAN JOE AMATO JOINS SALEEN AUTOMOTIVE’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS
CORONA, Calif., May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Saleen Automotive, Inc. During his two decades as one of Top Fuel’s most successful drivers, Joe Amato had an uncanny knack for finding the winner’s circle. From his early days in the Pro Comp class through his record five NHRA Winston Top Fuel championships, the affable and popular Pennsylvania businessman seemingly won at will. In addition to his five Winston titles, Amato’s résumé includes 52 victories in Top Fuel and another five behind the wheel of an alcohol-fueled dragster. A longtime fan favorite due to his easygoing nature and willingness to interact with the public, Amato competed in 99 final rounds in Top Fuel and won the Budweiser Shootout at Pomona a record six times. He finished in the top 10 an incredible 19 straight years, from 1982 through his sudden retirement at the end of the 2000 campaign.
Amato’s success on the dragstrip was paralleled by his achievements in the boardroom. As president of Keystone Automotive Warehouse, he became one of the world’s largest distributors of high-performance automotive parts and accessories and was able to parlay that status into a number of successful long-term sponsorships. As a result, his racing efforts were never underfinanced.

SALEEN DISPLAY: NEW YORK AUTO SHOW 2014

The 2015 50 Year Limited Edition model isn’t the only Mustang we saw on display at the during the press days at the New York Auto Show this week, as Saleen made the cross-country trek to show off their lineup as well. Featured prominently in the company’s booth is this gorgeous 302 SC Black Label Mustang Speedster painted in an eye-catching Speedlab Yellow.
The Black Label is Saleen’s most heavily optioned Mustang in their lineup and is the “epitome of Saleen styling and performance in one package,” according to the company. The car comes with a full Saleen body kit, 20-inch wheels, complete suspension upgrade, 14-inch brakes, custom interior with leather and Alcantara two-tone Chevron seats and plenty more. This particular model on display is the supercharged version putting out 625 horsepower.

Since 1964, more than 9.2 million Ford Mustangs have been made and sold. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this iconic American muscle car, Mar Yvette is at Saleen Automotive in Corona where they will be hosting more than 400 Mustang owners and enthusiasts who will drive across America to North Carolina.
The public is invited to kick off the drive with a celebration taking place on Wednesday, April 9 from 6pm-8pm. At 10am on Thursday, April 10, participants will gather at Saleen Automotive to begin the trek to North Carolina. Some will be raising money for charity, others will simply satisfy their sense for adventure on the open road. Whatever the case may be, it will surely be a once in a lifetime experience.
