Vehicle Description:
One of just 2 Saleens finished in this Saleen Signature Red Paint. The S7 features a very special all aluminum hand-built engine (7.0 liter twin turbo V8) and paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The chassis is also hand-built with a custom frame, all carbon fiber body and aircraft honeycomb structural reinforcement. This vehicle is 1 of only less than 100 Saleen S7 mid-engine supercars ever produced and with a Twin-Turbo 750hp engine. Its power, grip and ergonomics will leave you breathless. The race-style cockpit features handcrafted leather with suede accents and instrument panel positioning designed to optimize high performance driving. Air conditioning, power windows, power doors and AM/FM/CD/DVD with retractable 7″ in-dash LCD screen are also included. The S7 was first introduced in August of 2000 at the prestigious Monterrey Historic vintage car races and was designed to run head to head with the most exotic sports cars in the world. The S7 has a zero to 60 time of less than three seconds a top speed in excess of 200 miles per hour. Extensive wind tunnel testing and aero-tuning has created enough down force that the S7 at 160 miles per hour could theoretically be driven upside down. The S7 is available for a limited time at DC Motors, for more information about this vehicle and attractive financing options, please call our experienced sales team at 1-800-730-MOTOR.
Once upon a time, I owned 96-0356, a Rio Red Saleen Mustang S281 Speedster. According to Carfax, the car has changed hands a few times since I sold it, and was last seen in Northern California … maybe 2 hours north of where I live now.
I sold it to a dealer named Kassabian Motors, now known as My Hot Cars (myhotcars.com), who in turn sold it to owner #2. As you’ll see on the report, owner #4 registered it in Rohnert Park in 2011. I currently live in Lafayette, CA, so Rohnert Park isn’t too far, but just far enough that I can’t really pop up there and wait for it to emerge every weekend.
It doesn’t list as totaled or salvaged, yet with no additional maintenance entries, I assume it’s either serviced by the owner, or is registered as Planned Non Operational.
The VIN of my car is 1FALP45X6TF217386. I have checked with local Mustang clubs in Sonoma County, and haven’t gotten any responses from them. It doesn’t appear to have been serviced in the last few years, or at least not at any shop that would register such service in a way that it would appear on Carfax.
I sold 96-0356 prior to getting married in 1998. My divorce will be final soon, and I’d like to pick up where I left off with my car.

Up for auction a pristine, 1988 Saleen Mustang. This automobile is a true time capsule. It has 14k miles and is factory original. The only thing altered from original is the battery. It sits on the factory general tires from 1988. The paint shines as it did the day it rolled off the showroom. This automobile has never seen rain and has always been in a climate controlled facility. The interior is flawless and still smells as new. All buttons and switches work including the factory a/c. The undercarriage is spotless as well. This particular Saleen was not undercoated from the factory.
The car runs and drives perfectly. No leaks, or rattles of any kind. Every vin tag is in place and all panels are laser straight. There is no spider cracking of any kind on any painted surfaces. All fiberglass is free from any cracks as well. All glass is free from chips and all rubber is smooth and shines as new. Bottom line this is a proven show winner, and would be an outstanding addition to any collection. It is by far one of the nicest and cleanest original Saleen Mustangs you will ever see.
All documentation is included, along with the original window sticker. If you are familiar with my listings, I only deal in low mileage original classics. I have perfect feedback, and pride myself on this. If you have any questions please feel free to call anytime, 516-749-6025. My name is Joseph. Absolutely no disappointments.

This S281 Convertible was a special build for Liz Saleen. It is numbered 99-0002 and was used by Liz Saleen as her personal driver for 5 years. This incredible car won 2nd place at the MCA Grand Nationals (this was my first show and didn’t know what I was doing), took Best of Show and Best in Class at the Saleen Grand Nationals in Tacoma, WA. The car was repainted in 2009 and has been trailored to shows and we have only put a little over 200 miles on the car since we purchased it. We are the 3rd owner.

There were a total of 373 S281’s and 48 S351’s manufactured in 1999. This car is fully documented and was repainted at SMS Supercars in Corona, CA. It has always been stored in a climate controlled environment and is all original. Mileage is approximate.

Nineteen eighty-six, a model year of continuing formation and growth for a young Saleen Autosport. After their learning curve freshmen effort; Saleen Mustang production was standardized with both vehicle content and build location, a new Escort Endurance racing effort with lead sponsor General Tire was inked, while national Ford dealer awareness brought Saleen Mustangs into new mid-west and east coast markets. This was the year that set to establish Saleen as an image builder and halo performance brand.
For 1986 the convertible body style was not an official offering from Saleen. No marketing materials exist, nor pricing and ordering details. The lone hint to a Saleen Mustang convertible came way of 85-0038 and a photograph in Hot Rod Magazine. A supplemental image included with a road test feature on the new 1985 Saleen Mustang hatchback. An article that published in April of 1986.
Regardless of hurdles and simple unawareness, eleven buyers ponied of nerve and dollars to request a special Saleen Mustang convertible during this sophomore production year. From what we have found, six were painted black, three were bright red and two were white. While six were built on the readily available Mustang GT chassis with the remaining five on the Mustang LX 5.0 chassis.
