Steve Saleen Signature Event
The Saleen Owners and Enthusiasts Club is pleased to announce that, for the 3rd year in a row, it will host the appearance of Steve Saleen at the 2015 All Ford Nationals, Carlisle, Pennsylvania on June 5-7, 2015. The Ford GT (made for Ford by Saleen) is the featured car. Carlisle Events will have all Saleen produced vehicles park together so that all owners can have time to spend with Steve Saleen. Last September 2014 Steve Saleen gave us a very early commitment to attend this event. This was reconfirmed in early April 2015.

Saleen Registration
The Carlisle Showfield has Saleen Mustang classes 385, 386, 387, & 388. An all Saleen Powered Class # 389 for other Saleen powered vehicles has been added. (It is listed slightly out of order in the middle of the 390s on the Carlisle website.) Carlisle also has Black, Red, and Yellow Mustang registration. These separate Mustang groups will not be part of the Saleen display area.
All the Saleen classes will be parked near the Ford GT special feature car area to allow for Saleen owners to be near Steve Saleen’s activities with the Ford GT group. This is the first time that all Saleen built vehicles will be displayed together. (This will not be in our usual area in the Mustang section.)
Friday Afternoon, June 5, 2015
On Friday afternoon, June 5, 2015, the Saleen Owners and Enthusiasts Club will host an exclusive Saleen and Ford GT owners autograph session with Steve Saleen. This exclusive Friday Saleen and Ford GT session is being offered to allow time for Steve Saleen to personally greet owners, sign Saleen memorabilia, and Saleen built vehicles (including Ford GTs). For Saleen and Ford GT owners who are unable to attend on Friday, time to sign vehicles will be offered on Saturday. Please try to attend on Friday to avoid the long lines on Saturday and assure that there is enough time to get your autographs and photos with Steve Saleen.
Friday Evening, June 5, 2015
Steve Saleen will attend the Carlisle Events Friday evening dinner for Ford GT owners. To avoid conflicts with Carlisle activities, the Saleen Owners and Enthusiasts Club will not be arranging a Friday dinner as has been done in the past. Saleen Owners can stay and hang out at the club tent Friday evening, but only owners who purchase a Ford GT package will be able to attend the Ford GT dinner and exclusive Ford GT activities. Those who want to stay and hang out at the club tent can eat at the food vendor area under the Grand Stands. Most of the food vendors are open until 5:00. Most area restaurants will have long lines at 5:00.
Ford GT Celebration Packages
The Ford GT packages are $200 for the Friday Night Ford GT Party with no Ford GT registered or $250 for the Full Ford GT celebration package including a Ford GT registration and Saturday Night Parade for a Ford GT. These events are being arranged by Carlisle Events, so we don’t have additional information about the Ford GT package. Here is the link to Carlisle’s Ford GT page.

Meet and chat with all the Ford GT celebrities in attendance, get them to sign your favorite GT model or your favorite GT book. Hear from the celebrities as the night goes on and see who they select as their special GT Celebrity Choice picks. After dinner and speeches the night will conclude with a special autograph signing opportunity with all the celebrities in attendance. Carlisle Events will be providing a limited edition poster for this celebration for you to have signed in addition to what you may have.
Saleen owners who register a car in their class and want to purchase the $200 Friday night VIP GT package will need to upgrade to the VIP package and get details by contacting Ken Appell at Carlisle Events: 717-243-7855.

MEET STEVE SALEEN OF SALEEN AUTOMOTIVE, INC.
Hall of Famer Returns to Carlisle During Ford Weekend
A very popular name within automotive circles is coming to Carlisle courtesy of the Saleen Owners and Enthusiasts Club (SOEC). Steve Saleen was born in California and attended USC, earning a degree in business. He parlayed his education into a booming career that saw him work with the Porsche Owners Club before becoming a competitive racer. In 1980, he entered the Formula Atlantic series and was third in the final series standings. After that, he advanced to the SCCA Trans-Am series in ’82, driving a Ford Mustang. From there, his passion for the Mustang grew immensely, culminating with the founding of Saleen Autosport in 1983 and subsequent building of the first Saleen Mustang.
In 1984, the car was completed, tested and raced against some of the world’s top cars, finishing first in its class at the Mosport 24 hour endurance race. Years later, Saleen formed a race team with comedian Tim Allen and driver Bob Bondurant. The three raced Saleen Mustangs in the SCAA World Challenge. Inducted into the Mustang Hall of Fame in 1996 along side Carroll Shelby, Saleen remains active today, primarily with his namesake company, Saleen Inc.
Saleen also had a hand in the early Ford GT cars. Don’t miss out as Saleen, for the first time in front of a large audience, tells his story and version of the GT. With Ford spinning the history of the GT in their words, Saleen wants to take this time to set the record straight in his words. Further, Saleen is working on a new Ford powered Supercar that just may debut at Carlisle in 2015. How cool would that be?
Don’t miss a chance to meet Saleen at Carlisle in 2015 as he shares stories of his involvement with the Ford GT as part of the special GT celebration. There will be autograph sessions, Q&A times and more.

The Saleen Owners and Enthusiasts Club has again successfully scheduled Steve Saleen’s appearance at the 2014 All Ford Nationals, Carlisle, Pennsylvania on Friday, June 6 & Saturday, June 7, 2014. We have posted that we obtained a maybe response last fall. On April 19, Steve’s attendance was upgraded to a “probably”. On April 20 Steve and Liz Saleen went to Beijing, China for an International Auto Show. On May 10 we got the final YES to Steve’s attendance at the event! I read comments that some forum members were disappointed that they can’t make plans to attend. Please understand how fortunate we are to have Steve Saleen attend the event 2 years in a row. The awesome attendance of around 130 Saleen vehicles at the 2013 Carlisle All Ford Nationals helped us as we negotiated for his attendance at this year’s event!
The whole show runs from Friday – Sunday, but Steve will only attend Friday & Saturday. We expect to have a very busy day for Steve Saleen on Saturday. We will have a “Saleen Owners Only” autograph session on Friday to sign Saleen vehicles and other Saleen memorabilia. We want you to get your autographs done on Friday. If you are able to get your items autographed on Friday, we will ask that you don’t go through the autograph line again on Saturday to allow time for others. Because of the 50th Anniversary Celebration, we expect an overwhelming turn out of Mustangs. Let’s top last year’s total of around 130 Saleen vehicles on the show field.
Try to attend on Friday. We have reservations for Friday dinner at a restaurant in a plaza around the corner from the fairgrounds’ back gate. We will leave the show field at 4:15 on Friday, June 6, 2014. We are scheduled to arrive for dinner at 4:30. Although the show runs until 5:00, Friday isn’t the big busy day, so we will leave at 4:15. Please stay at the show until 4:15. The restaurant we are going to is Marcello’s Ristorante, 900 Cavalry Rd., Carlisle, PA. From the main entrance gate, turn right, go a short distance to a light at Cavalry Rd. and turn right on to Cavalry Rd. The restaurant is in the plaza on the right.
Buffet dinner will include salad, Italian dishes (containing beef, chicken, and fish), beverage, tax, and tip for a total of $20 per person. For children under 10 years old the price is $7. The dinner cost per person will be paid at the restaurant the day of the dinner. No orders from the regular menu.
Because we are limited to 90 people, this is for Saleen Owners and immediate families. Single reservations may bring 1 guest. To notify the restaurant with a preliminary quantity, we need reservations by Saturday, May 31. All reservations will be accepted on an as available basis. After Saturday, May 31 reservation requests will be honored, if space is available. When we reach a total of 90, names will be kept on a waiting list. If space allows, friends of Saleen Owners can attend. Stop by the Saleen tent on Friday, June 6.
Send name, Saleen vehicle type & number, and quantity for dinner to Betsy Beyer at saleen351@comcast.net
Please check in at the SOEC tent by 2:00 on Friday, June 6 to confirm your reservation. If you can’t make it to the show field by 2:00 on Friday, but you will be at the dinner, please send me an e-mail message on Thursday, June 5th or Friday morning, June 6th to confirm your reservation. If your plans change, please cancel your reservation as soon as possible to make room for others.
When you resister for the show, please list the Saleen Owners and Enthusiasts Club for your club affiliation:

On Saturday, June 7, Steve will have autograph sessions, and he will have Q&A time to be scheduled by Carlisle Events. On Saturday, Steve Saleen will sign Saleen vehicles that weren’t done on Friday. Steve will also participate in the Saturday parade. Steve & Liz Saleen will drive 2013 Saleen 351 #001. All vehicles in the parade must be preregistered and have a ticket for the parade.
