SALEEN AUTOMOTIVE REVS UP ITS BUSINESS

WHITEFISH, MT / May 28, 2014 / Saleen Automotive Inc. (OTC: SLNN), a specialty manufacturer of high performance vehicles, technical performance parts, and lifestyle accessories, has significantly expanded the quality and depth of its products. Over the past few months, management has focused on revving up its business with new product launches, existing product enhancements, and new team members.

In this article, we’ll take a look at these initiatives and management’s progress in building long-term value for the company’s shareholders.

Saleen’s Take on Tesla
Tesla Motors Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) has made big waves in both the automotive and financial world with its breakthrough vehicle line-up. With the best ratings for its class, the Tesla Model S has become a blueprint for how electric vehicles should be designed. The stock’s meteoric 117% rise over the past 52-weeks have also impressed many investors skeptical of its ability to profit in the EV space.

In January, Saleen Automotive announced its intent to produce a Saleen Tesla Model S sports car based on the iconic frame. Industry experts speculated that the high-performance automotive company would focus on new aerodynamics, new materials (e.g. carbon fiber), and perhaps some changes to the vehicle’s suspension rather than tweaking anything it’s widely praised for (e.g. its engine performance).

The Saleen Tesla Model S would sit alongside the company’s existing retrofitted high-performance vehicles, including Ford Inc.’s (NYSE: F) Mustang, General Motors Inc.’s (NYSE: GM) Chevrolet Camaro, or Fiat SpA’s (OTC: FIATY) Dodge Charger. The firm’s other products include its Saleen S7 supercar, which was prominently featured in the movie Need for Speed in March 2014.

Better Materials, Lower Costs
Saleen Automotive has also been busy improving the quality of its new and existing product lines. With upcoming aesthetic and performance improvements in its pipeline, the company is being positioned to increase sales by differentiating itself from the competition. The company is also reducing costs by bringing components in-house, in order to ultimately drive long-term shareholder value.

In February, the company announced an agreement with AC Propulsion to assist with the technology and implementation of its EV powertrains and batteries. As a key technology provider to Tesla in the past, AC Propulsion specializes in alternating-current based drivetrain systems for electric vehicles. These systems are ideally suited for maximum efficiency and high performance.

More recently, the company announced an exclusive agreement with BASF SE (OTC: BASFY) to exclusively use its products at its campus in California. The agreement with enable the firm to develop all new colors using co-developed technology and Saleen’s state-of-the-art facility, while helping lower costs by enabling the company to bring paint under its roof rather than subcontracting to someone else.

Building a Better Team
Saleen Automotive Inc. was already founded by one of racing’s legends, but that’s not stopping the team from adding more fuel to the engine. In May, legendary driver and businessman Joe Amato agreed to join its Board of Directors to provide key technical and business advice. Mr. Amato’s accomplishments on the track are rivaled by his high-performance auto parts distribution business.

Before that, the company also added a world-class advertising agency called Havas Edge to create a nationwide advertising campaign. Havas is the largest integrated full-service direct response agency in the U.S., using data and analytics to drive results for its clients. The addition of the advertising firm represents a key partnership that could drive brand awareness higher over the long-term.

The combination of Board of Director experience and strategic partnerships should continue to assist the company in its efforts to expand brand awareness, build better products, and ultimately generate higher revenues and profits. In particular, Mr. Amato’s presence on the Board of Directors also represents a strong vote of confidence in the company and its management team.

Looking Ahead
Saleen Automotive Inc.’s efforts have already resulted in some improvements to its top- and bottom-line financial results. Looking at its core Vehicles & Parts revenue, the company reported a 77.1% increase to $1,076,153 during the three-month period ended December 31, 2013. Management attributed the gains to higher vehicle sales from the addition of new dealers and expansions with existing dealers.

Investors in the high-performance vehicle or electric vehicle space may want to keep an eye on the stock over the coming months. With new products, product enhancements, and management talent added to the mix, the company could start to see its business accelerate both operationally and financially over the coming quarters if management is able to continue to execute on its plans.

THE RESTORATION OF 86-0064

To veterans in the Saleen hobby, witnessing the restoration of early series vehicles are not a new phenomenon. The notion of “stay ahead of the curve” rang true when vehicles under the age of ten were rebuilt to better-than-new status during the 1990s.

As first generation Saleen Mustangs approach their thirtieth birthdays, we are poised to witness a renaissance in the repair, refresh and restoration of these ’80s and ’90s performance icons. This transition is apparent with Saleen enthusiast Ray Bare. Ray is part of a new generation breathing life into stationary relics in need of passionate caretakers.

Located by way of Craigslist during spring 2013, Ray spied 86-0064, a typical pre-owned 5-liter Mustang that survived 20-years of doing battle as a “hot car.” The fiberglass cowl hood, color change (tonality of hue), rebuilt stroker 302 and new roof skin were clear indications #64 lived with its needle pointed to the right side of the dial.

Built in late April/May of 1986 and delivered to Snipes Ford, #64 represents a near typical spec-model for Saleen Autosport. These build features include: a complete ’86 model year body kit, 16″x7″ Riken lace wheels, GT sport seating with GT dash trim and Kenwood sound system. Notable exceptions to equipment were: retention of the original equipment Ford shift assembly (in lue of Hurst unit) and an alternative Momo Master steering wheel (caused by availability issues with the Veloce).

1986 Saleen Mustang production would total 201 units for the model year with 190 completed in the hatchback body style. The more common LX trim represent 183 vehicles with 46 units ordered in Bright Red (2R) paint, of those 43 feature charcoal interior. Of the 43 LX hatchbacks in Bright Red with charcoal interior; it is estimated 31 were produced with correct model year body kit and 16” wheels.

STEVE SALEEN TO ATTEND FORD NATIONALS 2014 IN CARLISLE, PENNSYLVANIA

The Saleen Owners and Enthusiasts Club has again successfully scheduled Steve Saleen’s appearance at the 2014 All Ford Nationals, Carlisle, Pennsylvania on Friday, June 6 & Saturday, June 7, 2014. We have posted that we obtained a maybe response last fall. On April 19, Steve’s attendance was upgraded to a “probably”. On April 20 Steve and Liz Saleen went to Beijing, China for an International Auto Show. On May 10 we got the final YES to Steve’s attendance at the event! I read comments that some forum members were disappointed that they can’t make plans to attend. Please understand how fortunate we are to have Steve Saleen attend the event 2 years in a row. The awesome attendance of around 130 Saleen vehicles at the 2013 Carlisle All Ford Nationals helped us as we negotiated for his attendance at this year’s event!

The whole show runs from Friday – Sunday, but Steve will only attend Friday & Saturday. We expect to have a very busy day for Steve Saleen on Saturday. We will have a “Saleen Owners Only” autograph session on Friday to sign Saleen vehicles and other Saleen memorabilia. We want you to get your autographs done on Friday. If you are able to get your items autographed on Friday, we will ask that you don’t go through the autograph line again on Saturday to allow time for others. Because of the 50th Anniversary Celebration, we expect an overwhelming turn out of Mustangs. Let’s top last year’s total of around 130 Saleen vehicles on the show field.

Try to attend on Friday. We have reservations for Friday dinner at a restaurant in a plaza around the corner from the fairgrounds’ back gate. We will leave the show field at 4:15 on Friday, June 6, 2014. We are scheduled to arrive for dinner at 4:30. Although the show runs until 5:00, Friday isn’t the big busy day, so we will leave at 4:15. Please stay at the show until 4:15. The restaurant we are going to is Marcello’s Ristorante, 900 Cavalry Rd., Carlisle, PA. From the main entrance gate, turn right, go a short distance to a light at Cavalry Rd. and turn right on to Cavalry Rd. The restaurant is in the plaza on the right.

Buffet dinner will include salad, Italian dishes (containing beef, chicken, and fish), beverage, tax, and tip for a total of $20 per person. For children under 10 years old the price is $7. The dinner cost per person will be paid at the restaurant the day of the dinner. No orders from the regular menu.

Because we are limited to 90 people, this is for Saleen Owners and immediate families. Single reservations may bring 1 guest. To notify the restaurant with a preliminary quantity, we need reservations by Saturday, May 31. All reservations will be accepted on an as available basis. After Saturday, May 31 reservation requests will be honored, if space is available. When we reach a total of 90, names will be kept on a waiting list. If space allows, friends of Saleen Owners can attend. Stop by the Saleen tent on Friday, June 6.

Send name, Saleen vehicle type & number, and quantity for dinner to Betsy Beyer at saleen351@comcast.net

Please check in at the SOEC tent by 2:00 on Friday, June 6 to confirm your reservation. If you can’t make it to the show field by 2:00 on Friday, but you will be at the dinner, please send me an e-mail message on Thursday, June 5th or Friday morning, June 6th to confirm your reservation. If your plans change, please cancel your reservation as soon as possible to make room for others.

When you resister for the show, please list the Saleen Owners and Enthusiasts Club for your club affiliation:

Carlisle Events Registration page:

Goody bags to those who pre-register under Saleen Owners and Enthusiasts Club — this helps support SOEC.

On Saturday, June 7, Steve will have autograph sessions, and he will have Q&A time to be scheduled by Carlisle Events. On Saturday, Steve Saleen will sign Saleen vehicles that weren’t done on Friday. Steve will also participate in the Saturday parade. Steve & Liz Saleen will drive 2013 Saleen 351 #001. All vehicles in the parade must be preregistered and have a ticket for the parade.

13-011 S620 SALEEN / BONDURANT EDITION HITS eBay

Price: US $59,995.00
VIN: 2G1FS1EW8D9166228
Mileage: 2,005
eBay #: 221439608353

Up for sale is a 2013 Saleen/Bondurant 620 special edition Chevrolet Camaro. Rare would be an understatement. It is the only 2013 Saleen/Bondurant camaro ever made. There were 2 made in 2012 and 1 made in 2013. Even better, this car was built for Bob Bondurant and was displayed at his world famous racing school. It has the same specs as a black label top of the line Saleen Camaro package but the Bondurant package makes it that much rarer. It also has the optional RS package from the factory.

This Saleen packs 600 horsepower out of it’s 6.2 liter supercharged LS3 motor and backs to a 6 speed manual transmission. The following upgrades are part of the package:

  •     Saleen supercharger with asymmetric multi-lube screws
  •     Low pressure drop internal intercoolers
  •     High volume intercooler water pump with closed single pass system
  •     Remote external heat exchanger
  •     47lb fuel injectors
  •     Cold air induction with high performance air filter
  •     High performance dual exhaust with high performance mufflers
  •     Polished stainless steel exhaust tips
  •     3:45 final gear ratio
  •     Saleen red butterfly induction hood
  •     Saleen blade front grille
  •     Saleen front splitter
  •     Saleen side skirts
  •     Saleen high downforce rear diffuser
  •     Saleen aerodynamic rear deck lid with integrated spolier
  •     Saleen exterior emblems
  •     Leather and suede custom upholstery
  •     Dashboard signed by Steve Saleen and Bob Bondurant

This Saleen has upgraded options as well which include 15 inch multipiece front brake rotors with 6 piston calipers which cost an additional $1,900 and an adjustable Saleen coil over suspension system which costs an additional $2,450.

The original msrp on this car was around $65,000 and it was the only one made in 2013. It is serial #011. Saleen retains the rights to the first 10 serial #’s of all Saleen automobiles as part of his contract but none were ever used. All the miles on this car were from 2 roadtrips to and from the Bondurant racing school in Arizona to Saleen headquarters in California. It is owned by Bob Bondurant and the title is in the Bondurant racing schools name.

If you buy this car, you can fly in and meet Bob Bondurant and get a picture taken with him and the car. You could also stay and do a Bondurant racing school course to learn how to handle your new 600 horsepower monster!!!(racing school course is not included)

This is a great collectible car and an awesome combination of 2 racing legends. It has the balance of both the Saleen warranty and the factory Chevrolet warranty. There was a 2012 Saleen/Bondurant camaro that sold at Barrett Jackson for $100,000 in January 2012. Do not miss your chance to own this awesome piece of history because being a 1 of 1 means that another one will never come up for sale!!!

If you have any questions, please call Randy at 480-206-1701.

RACING LEGEND AND BUSINESSMAN JOE AMATO JOINS SALEEN AUTOMOTIVE’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

CORONA, Calif., May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Saleen Automotive, Inc. (OTCQB: SLNN), (OTCBB: SLNN) (the “Company”), an American specialty manufacturer of high performance vehicles, technical performance parts, lifestyle accessories and apparel, is pleased to announce that legendary driver and businessman Joe Amato has joined the Board of Directors, effective immediately.

During his two decades as one of Top Fuel’s most successful drivers, Joe Amato had an uncanny knack for finding the winner’s circle. From his early days in the Pro Comp class through his record five NHRA Winston Top Fuel championships, the affable and popular Pennsylvania businessman seemingly won at will. In addition to his five Winston titles, Amato’s résumé includes 52 victories in Top Fuel and another five behind the wheel of an alcohol-fueled dragster. A longtime fan favorite due to his easygoing nature and willingness to interact with the public, Amato competed in 99 final rounds in Top Fuel and won the Budweiser Shootout at Pomona a record six times. He finished in the top 10 an incredible 19 straight years, from 1982 through his sudden retirement at the end of the 2000 campaign.

Amato’s success on the dragstrip was paralleled by his achievements in the boardroom. As president of Keystone Automotive Warehouse, he became one of the world’s largest distributors of high-performance automotive parts and accessories and was able to parlay that status into a number of successful long-term sponsorships. As a result, his racing efforts were never underfinanced.

“Adding my friend and colleague Joe Amato to our Board of Directors is a historic moment for Saleen Automotive,” stated Steve Saleen, CEO, Saleen Automotive. “Joe has accomplished remarkable achievements on and off the track and brings that legacy of success as a contributing member of our board and indeed, a highly valued strategic partner. I very much look forward to utilizing Joe’s unique skill set as we execute the Saleen Automotive business plan.”

“I’m pleased to join Steve Saleen, his management team, and the members of the Board in a journey to take Saleen Automotive to new heights,” stated Amato. “Steve has built a reputation for excellence to which few can compare and I look forward to being a part of this ride as a working member of the Board.”
