1989 Ford Mustang Saleen
5-Speed, 1 of 161 Produced

Don’t see the need to give a description of this particular Saleen, as its pretty legendary, so I would suggest looking up Saleen SSC if your not familiar. Some of the key points are:

* 1 of 161
* Rear seat delete from Saleen Autosport
* Delete package houses sound system (original)
* Roll bar set up factory original from Saleen Autosport
* Leather wrapped Saleen/FloFit seats in two tone original material (excellent shape)
* 4 wheel disc brake conversion
* Signed by Steve Saleen himself, who was blown away with the cars condition especially the seats as most SSC’s have leather which is worn and faded this car’s interior is new
* Monroe adjustable suspension
* Saleen modified 5.0 (first time Saleen was able to modify a motor and keep the warranty from Ford) 292 HP, normal 5.0’s had 225 HP

Original DP5 wheels in perfect shape with original General VP2000 tires in great shape go with sale along with 17″ Saleen/ Speedline 5 stars currently on the vehicle (DP’s too valuable and impossible to replace reason for additional wheels on the car as it sits).

Car is 100% original and as it left the Saleen factory in 1989 this car is a jaw dropper. If you want the very best and one of the rarest Fox Body’s ever made then this is the car for you and I am sure your aware that SSC’s like this never come up for sale.

Everything works, no leaks, no issues, no stories, and just an amazing vehicle which will surely increase in value as Fox bodies have been sky rocketing as of recent

Car is number 168 as Saleen randomly numbered SSC’s as one might think they would be numbered 1 through 161 but they were not.

RESTORATION COMPLETE: SALEEN S7 03-031R

By: FLORENT MOULIN

We are very proud to present a selection of pictures of the Saleen S7R GT1 chassis 031R after its in-house restoration by Art & Revs. It was a real joy and moment of pride to put the car in our studio after working so hard for such a result.

The great 031R was ordered together with 029R in late 2003 by ACEMCO, an important US company in the motor car industry in the US. The aim was to compete at the highest level in ALMS and Le Mans, notably against the factory Corvettes ran by Pratt & Miller. ACEMCO had by this time built up a fantastic racing team around Ron Mack and Jim Bell.

This legendary car raced in the 2005 ALMS including an 8th overall finish at Sebring 12 Hours and it finished second in the Championship. The pinnacle of its history came certainly in 2006 when it raced at Le Mans 24 hours, finishing an impressive 11th place overall, making 031R the first Saleen to ever finish the world’s most prestigious endurance race. This important result bears testimony to the car’s performance and reliability.

The car was not used in 2007 and 2008, and was sold to Europe in 2009 to be raced in the FIA GT Championship with K Plus K, driven by Karl Wendlinger and Ryan Sharp, notably winning Silverstone’s Tourist Trophy among other motorsport firsts. Back then the competition between Maserati, Aston Martin, Ferrari and Saleen was at its height.

Very few know the S7R’s history and that the first series of S7Rs were actually engineered and built at RML in UK. However the « Evo » version was totally re-engineered by Saleen in their all new factory at Irvine in California, this is where they also built the 4,000 Ford GTs on behalf of Ford. 029R & 031R were the first Evo cars built and accordingly benefited from all new chassis, suspension, gearbox and aero. The Saleen S7 7.0 liter engines were in fact built from Ford`s 5.0 liter « small » block and reliability has always been a real issue. It has to be said that the engines built at Roush-Yates have always been disappointing and notably deprived most of the S7Rs from finishing Le Mans.

In the first stages of their Saleen project, ACEMCO being generously funded, contracted Panoz ( Elan Technologies ) to build up a 7.0 liter version of their largely proven LMP900 engine, originally a 6.0 liter. The Elan 7.0 liter was a total success and ACEMCO would never retire because of an engine failure. In unrestricted specifications, 031R’s engine recently shown 728 HP on the dyno at Elan after its rebuild. Only the two original ACEMCO cars would actually be equipped with the fantastic Elan engine and four units were built.

031R was completely stripped down to its bare components by Art & Revs and meticulously restored and reassembled by our highly skilled staff, most of whom have a large experience in Formula 1 or Endurance.All of the car’s components were reconditioned or replaced in close collaboration with the original suppliers wherever possible, just like the engine which was rebuilt at Elan. For safety purposes, the major components were crack tested.

This highly iconic silver S7R is now ready for new adventures on the historic racing scene and more widely in the classic car world. This is a great part of the Saleen S7R legend, the first all-American supercar to ever compete at Le Mans and in major international championships.

89-0526 on eBay

This is Saleen # 89-0526 with just a little over 26K miles. It is 1 of 1 built with white exterior/grey interior, factory sunroof, 327 geared, white wheels and automatic transmission. Out of the 734 Saleens produced in 1989 only 10 cars were built with the automatic transmission making this pretty rare.

The paint is all original except for the rear hatch and the aftermarket hood. The front spoiler does have a little road rash at the bottom. The paint overall is in great condition. The carpet, seats, door panels and rear hatch are very clean and show no signs of wear. The Saleen console I.D. plate is missing and the Saleen badge is not installed but is included in the sale.

Power windows, locks, mirrors and factory Saleen radio all works. The engine has been modified with Holley heads and intake. The cam is E303 from Ford performance. The car also has a fresh tune up including plugs, wires and Ford cap and rotor. The cold air and 70mm throttle body are from BBK. The shorty style headers are from Ford Performance. The H-pipe is from BBK and the cat back is from Flowmaster and is a 2 1/2″ stainless steel system with 0 miles.

The transmission is stock with a B&M shifter. The stock shifter is included with the sale of the car. The brakes front and rear including the rear end were all removed cleaned, blasted, primed, painted and detailed and reinstalled. The struts and shocks were replaced at that time and have 0 miles.

The original parts included with the sale are the following. Stock E7 heads, stock upper and lower intakes, stock T/B, mass air, air box, tubes, stock headers, shifter and the hood.

This vehicle is being sold as is and without warranty of any kind. I do not need help selling this vehicle so please don’t ask. No Trades. The shipping is the responsibly of the buyer. FIRST YEAR S351 (94-0014) OFFERED FOR SALE

The wild and crazy Saleen S351 Mustang. With all of the press and excitement during the 1994 model year that surrounded this new model from Saleen Performance, few realized the 351 powered SN-95 Mustang from Saleen was a slow start to reality.

For the 1994 model year Saleen produced 46 S351 Mustangs; 44 were “normal” S351 models while 2 were SR editions. Of the 44 non-SR models, 32 were produced on the coupe body style. Of those 32, 9 were painted in Black exterior paint. If we examine those 9 vehicles, 7 featured Black interior plastics from Ford. Of those 7, 5 were not equipped with the optional supercharger package. Of those 5 vehicles, 4 had the standard cloth Saleen/Recaro seating. Of these 4, 1 had the optional Saleen 2-Point Roll Bar. 94-0014 is that car.

If we view 1994 S351 production in detail, it appears 94-0014 was the first Black painted coupe produced by Saleen Performance; two Black convertibles were produced before 94-0014. It also appears 94-0014 may have been the eighth 1994 serialized production car produced by Saleen Performance.

While viewing 94-0014 in its current state, we notice the front bumper cover serial number decals are an incorrect typeface and the silver side chevrons are not the “reverse fade” version commonly seen on 1994-95 Saleen Mustangs. We suspect previous paintwork. One cool early production element are the pre-machine gun exhaust pipes with Fox-era Saleen SC tail extensions. -DB
