STEVE SALEEN’S SMS SUPERCARS INCREASES VEHICLE PRODUCTION
WITH THE RELEASE OF THE SMS 302 WHITE, YELLOW AND BLACK LABEL MUSTANGS
Corona, California – April 6, 2011
Steve Saleen’s SMS Supercars increases vehicle production with the release of the SMS 302 White, Yellow and Black Label Mustangs. The expanded model lines are a tribute to his racing heritage colors, marketed under the White, Yellow, and Black Labels.
The SMS 302 White Label is normally aspirated, making 440 horsepower, with performance suspension, exhaust, interior ergonomics and exterior styling.
These factory assembled vehicles represent a volume expansion. SMS Dealers are enthusiastic with the release of these new model lines supporting increased production and sales. SMS Supercars is pleased to announce a MSRP of $35,540 (plus transportation, tax, title, registration) for this 440 horsepower normally aspirated vehicle; the White Label SMS 302 representing an astounding price for a complete high performance vehicle.
The SMS 302 Yellow Label, making 545 horsepower, has all of the White Label attributes plus a supercharger and SMS 19″ wheel/tire assemblies. SMS Supercars dealers once again, capitalizing on consumer interest and increased volumes, are thrilled to have a supercharged car of this value. The MSRP of this 545 horsepower SMS 302 Yellow Label is $45,540 (plus transportation, tax, title, registration). Nowhere else is the consumer able to achieve the performance and value SMS Supercar offers.
Steve Saleen’s SMS Supercars continues to offer the ultimate, vehicle manufactured and marketed as Black Label models. These continue to be his ultimate performance / lifestyle vehicles consisting of advanced aerodynamic body components, his S4 suspension, SMS leather interior, 575 horsepower, and many other features and options. Consumers desiring a truly unique vehicle may order custom paint resulting in a vehicle which most often is one of a kind while still maintaining assembly line uniformity. MUSTANGS NORTHWEST ROUNDUP: SMS SUPERCARS DEBUTS 302 CONVERTIBLE
During the 2010 Mustang Club of America Grand National show held in Bellevue Washington this past August, SMS Supercars shown their new 302 Mustang in the exclusive convertible body style.
Serial number 11-021 had a host of equipment, which included optional 14″ cross drilled rotors with 4-piston calipers, chrome 20×9″ wheels with a nice collection of Ford equipment such as Electric Package and HID headlights.

SUSPICIOUS FIRE DESTROYS $60K MUSTANG

Sept. 24 – County firefighters are investigating a suspicious blaze at a car lot early Wednesday that destroyed a specialty Ford Mustang worth $60,000.
An employee of a cleaning service discovered the Mustang on fire at the Bob Bell Ford auto lot, 7125 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie, just before 3 a.m., said J.P. Bishop, president of Bob Bell Ford in Glen Burnie.
Three firefighters and two fire investigators were called to the scene. They found the Saleen Motorsport SMS Mustang, a converted specialty vehicle with higher horsepower than the average Mustang, engulfed in flames, said Division Chief Michael Cox, a county Fire Department spokesman.
It took the crew 15 minutes to extinguish the blaze, Bishop said. The Mustang was destroyed, he said.
The cause of the fire is unknown. The incident is being investigated.
“Although the fire has not been ruled an arson, it does appear to be suspicious,” Cox said.
The Mustang was showcased separately from other vehicles at the front of the lot for passers-by to see from Ritchie Highway, Bishop said. The blaze damaged the front of the lot, where the vehicle was parked. He said other nearby vehicles were sprayed by fire hoses as firefighters extinguished the blaze.
The auto dealership spent yesterday inspecting all vehicles in the vicinity of the fire for damage.
“It doesn’t appear any other cars were tampered with,” Bishop said. “But when they put the fire out on that one vehicle, they sprayed some other ones.”
He is grateful the Mustang was isolated on the lot and other vehicles did not catch fire.
Bishop said the dealership has never experienced a suspicious fire or arson.
The county Fire Department is asking anyone with information to contact investigators on the county’s Arson Tip Line at 410-222-TIPS. Callers may remain anonymous

STEVE SALEEN TO OFFER HIS PERSONAL, UNIQUE FORD GT PROTOTYPE AT RUSSO AND STEELE AUCTION IN MONTEREY ON AUGUST 14, 2010
Orange County, California (August 9, 2010) The Ford GT in itself is a rare car with just a little over 4,000 units built between 2005 and the end of production in 2007, all of which were built in a purpose-built facility by Saleen Special Vehicles in Troy, Michigan. Now Steve Saleen, legendary racer, entrepreneur and in 2005 the man behind Saleen Special Vehicles, is bringing his even rarer, personal 2005 pre-production Ford GT to auction. Russo and Steele are offering this car at their Monterey auction on August 14, 2010.
Number 5 of only 9 prototypes ever built
Not only is this car, VIN# 1FAFP90825Y400040, number 5 of only 9 prototypes built, it is also the only one using a hand-built twin-screw supercharger which would later become part of the regular production model. Never titled, this car now has only 3,830 miles on the odometer and remains in as-new condition
Rich movie history – Rocky IV, Fast and Furious 4, XXX: State of the Union
Originally yellow with black stripes, it was first used by the Ford Motor Company for engineering as well as PR and was showcased in numerous books including “The Supercar – An Evolution of Speed, and Velocity” by well known author and photographer John Lamm. Steve Saleen then had it repainted to its current white with blue stripes and unique Saleen decals for various movie productions that had requested his personal vehicle. It appeared in the movies Rocky VI, Fast and Furious 4, and XXX: State of the Union as well as numerous TV appearances and exhibits. This vehicle comes personally autographed by Steve Saleen and is sure to increase in value over the years.
