Saleen Performance produced a total of 101 serialized Mustangs during 1993. Serial number 93-0050 is one of 55 standard hatchbacks (non-SC, non-SA-10) of which 17 featured the optional Saleen supercharger content group. 1993 was the sophomore year for this power improvement package based around a centrifugal supercharger by Vortech Engineering. Additional features include: Improved fuel delivery, air filtration, exhaust headers and Saleen designed tailpipe extensions.

93-0050 is one of seven black exterior / black exterior, 5-speed manual, supercharged hatchbacks produced for the year. One of four with optional 3.55:1 gearing and one of two with Saleen leather Recaro interior.

Recently discovered resting in a Texas warehouse, dormant since 2003, 93-0050 represents a modern classic “barn find.”

SALEEN SHIPS FIRST VERSIONS OF 2015 302 MUSTANG

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Impressive year on the horizon for Saleen

Saleen Automotive Inc. (OTCQB: SLNN) Corona, CA – (February 2, 2015)

A new generation of Mustang history has begun as Saleen Automotive ships the first versions of the all-new 302 Mustangs from their Southern California production facility. Keeping with the formula that Saleen uses to produce its instantly recognizable vehicles since 1984, these first models are White Label versions and serve as the launch as Saleen ramps up production of the all-new Mustang.

The Saleen Advantage
As the introductory model to the Saleen 302 model lineup, the White Label touts an incredible list of features in a complete vehicle. The White Label utilizes a 302 cubic inch V8 engine with premium calibration to produce 450 naturally aspirated horsepower. Superior handling on the Saleen 302 is maintained by specific-rate suspension springs and sway bar bushings and links, with traction managed by the staggered 20″ wheels and Z-rated tires. Aerodynamics and aesthetics on the Saleen 302 include a high-volume intake grille, quarter window panel, and high downforce rear wing atop a Saleen taillight panel. Akin to the rest of the vehicles that Saleen produces, a limited number of these Mustangs will be produced and each one will receive a serialized number. Saleen is the only manufacturer in the world to offer a vehicle with this much power, remarkable styling, and limited number exclusivity with prices starting in the low $40,000s.

According to Bloomberg, “The U.S. auto industry is poised for an unprecedented sixth straight annual sales increase next year.” Combine this with the fact that the Ford Mustang outsold the Chevrolet Camaro and the Dodge Challenger combined in November of last year, according to autoguide.com, and you can see that Saleen 302 Mustang is headed for a historic year.

“These are the best Mustangs I have ever built” asserted Steve Saleen, CEO of Saleen Automotive. “We are in for a thrill ride as this car will take us to levels we have never seen before.”

More Than One Trick Pony
Along with the White Label model, Saleen also offers Yellow and Black Label versions for an enhanced experience. The Yellow Label comes equipped with a Saleen supercharged 302 ci engine. While the Black Label is the no holds barred, fully loaded big brother of the two and will be revealed at a special event on March 20, 2015. For more information, or to place an order for any of the three versions of the 302, visit saleen.com.

Ford F-Series: The Truck That Grew-Up With America

Ford F-Series trucks have been beloved by enthusiasts and customers for decades. The F-Series has proven to be the most enduring and successful line of vehicles Ford has produced in its history. Since 1948 there have been 12 generations of this praised line of trucks with numerous special editions in between. The new 13th generation launched at the 2014 New York International Auto Show promises innovation and design that will inevitably help this treasured vehicle retain its longstanding place as America’s favorite truck. The Truck that Grew Up with America will tell the story of the beloved Ford F-Series evolution from a utilitarian work implement to a fully appointed luxury vehicle with functional capabilities that deliver the competent utility required in the workplace and recreation.

The exhibit will chronicle the evolution of the thirteen series of the truck with imagery and props illustrating how the F-Series has evolved with the functional and lifestyles needs of society. It will showcase examples of each truck in the series as well as the special editions that have garnered loyalty with owners.

To place the F-Series in a cultural context, three “Windows in Time” set pieces will be created to further illustrate the Truck that Grew Up with America theme by comparing the period with the F-Series truck designs of that era.

The three periods; “Widows in Time” are:
1. 1946 through the 50’s – The beginning
2. 1960’s – A period of dynamic cultural change
3. Late 1990’s – When the line between a work truck and luxury car blurred

ACM will build small “sets” with period artifacts, memorabilia and ephemera to enhance the story of the truck in its era.

Dates: The exhibit will open on January 10, 2015 and run until June 2015.

Location: The Truck that Grew Up with America exhibit will be located on the Museum’s Showcase Gallery and is the first exhibit guests will experience.

Vehicles: 20 trucks from 1948 to present

In addition to the 20 Ford trucks, the exhibit will have a number of exhibit elements designed to enhance the telling of the F-Series story. These include a video wall adjacent to the entry of F-Series exhibit. The installation is a thirty-five foot exhibit wall with four video monitors, which will run individual films. The Museum is working with Ford’s Media Archives to acquire a wide selection of high-quality photography and film to use in the creation of the videos.
