08-0026DR Speedlab Drag Car

This is no ordinary Mustang.. This is a Saleen Extreme S302E Sterling edition. One of the baddest mustangs ever built, period. Everything inside and out is ultra high quality, and that of a supercar. It is extremely limited. There were only 25 of these cars produced, 6 of them were destroyed, 9 of them are not in the country. Making this one of 10 here in the states! There are two others available at this current moment being sold by the Mustang museum. Both of them are asking $97k. We have been lucky enough to get our hands on some of the ‘regular’ S302E Extreme mustangs, and they usually go for mid fifties with some decent mileage. We are offering this car at an ABSOLUTE steal. These cars were MSRP’d at $99,950, but many sold for way more money originally. This one sold for $120k new. This is Saleen & Mustang history. This car is in MINT condition, inside and out. All original. It comes with TWO leather Saleen jackets, the 16 ounce sterling silver plaque, and everything else you would hope for. Don’t miss out on this one of a kind super-car.

This is the S302E- STERLING DR #26. Although this car is listed as #26, it is the very first Sterling to be produced. This car was built, and immediately sent to Saleen Speedlabs to create the ultimate race car. This car produces 835 HORSEPOWER at the engine, which creates over 700 wheel horsepower. This car can HOOK it also. After the Sterling was given to the Speedlabs, over $130k was invested into the car to turn it into what it is today. This car is non-duplicatable, but if it was, it should cost close to $200k to produce. It comes with TONS of extras as well, including the original sterling wheels, Saleen seats, and a bunch more! This car is programmed to run on race fuel, or can easily be programmed for 93 octane as well. This car is so powerful it can do a wheelie!!! This is the ultimate mustang, with every top quality part possible thrown at it. The seats are carbon fiber Saleen S7 seats, which cost well over $5k.. if you can even find a set for sale. There are many more details for this car, but I don’t want to end up with a book here. This is a 700 mile, 1 of 1 SUPERCAR being offered. This can easily be a your show car or weekend warrior. Don’t miss out on this VERY special Mustang.

ACEMCO S7R (04-029R) HITS THE OPEN MARKET

By: KURT ERNST on January 7, 2016 at 9:00 am
Original Article: HEMMINGS.COM

Hemmings Find of the Day – 2004 Saleen S7R

In 2004, the ACEMCO Racing team debuted a new Saleen S7R in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) Championship, placing second in the GTS class behind the all-conquering Corvette C5-R. Chassis 029R, the Saleen S7R driven by Terry Borcheller, David Brabham and Johnny Mowlem, later went over to Europe, competing against Maserati MC12s, Corvette C6.Rs, Nissan GT-Rs and Ford GTs in the FIA GT series. Now, this 2004 Saleen S7R, last run at this year’s Classic 24 at Daytona, is for sale on Hemmings.com, giving fans a chance to purchase an American endurance racing sports car once run at the sport’s highest levels. Prepared for last November’s Daytona event, the car features a fresh engine rebuild with just four hours of use, and is said to be in “fantastic condition,” both technically and cosmetically. From the seller’s description:

2004 Saleen S7R ALMS GT1. This is chassis 029R the 2004 ACEMCO car that finished 3rd at the Championship, later raced FIA GT 2009 and beat many times the MC12s. This is the very first “evolution” car after the S7R was totally redesigned and built in CA ( previous ones were built in UK by RML ). It received major evolutions in terms of aero, suspension, gearbox, brakes and reliability. Acemco had their engines built by ELAN ( a Don PANOZ company ) now unrestricted and producing 730HP. The car is in fantastic technical and cosmetical condition and has been totally rebuilt from the chassis ( engine by ELAN ), only 4 hours since. It comes with a few spares and is ready to race. Raced the 2015 Daytona Classic, constantly lapped in 1,46 with non professional driver and unbeatable in GT. The evolution S7Rs are extremely quick and easy to drive. A real ALMS legend. Car located in Luxembourg and welcome to any inspections.

S7 TWIN TURBO COMPETITION (05-046) TO HIT RM AUCTIONS, ARIZONA

S7 Twin Turbo Competition 05-046
S7 Twin Turbo Competition 05-046

Phoenix, Arizona – 28-29 January, 2016

2005 Saleen S7 Twin Turbo ‘Competition Package’
Chassis no. 1S9SB181X5S000046
Serial no. S7-05-046
www.rmauctions.com

850 bhp, 427 cu. in. DOHC aluminum V-8 with twin Garrett turbochargers, six-speed manual transaxle, four-wheel fully adjustable independent suspension, and four-wheel ventilated Brembo disc brakes. Wheelbase: 106.2 in.

  • The only S7 Twin Turbo built with these particular colors and options
  • Just two owners and 941 miles from new
  • Upgraded by Saleen with the desirable Competition Package
  • Documented by a Letter of Authenticity from Saleen

While Saleen had a very well-respected reputation for tuning Mustangs, the company had never ventured out on its own to build a car of its own design until the S7. Boasting a completely unique chassis, the S7 was developed for racing, and the road-going examples were constructed with homologation in mind. Fitted with svelte carbon-fiber bodywork and a mid-mounted 427–cubic inch V-8 engine, it could sprint from 0–60 mph in just 3.3 seconds and would accelerate onward toward an estimated top speed of 220 mph.

In 2005, Saleen took the S7 one step further and introduced the S7 Twin Turbo, adding even more horsepower, torque, and speed to one of the fastest street-legal cars that money could buy, thanks to a pair of Garrett turbochargers. Horsepower was raised to 750, and the car was given different front and rear fenders along with a slightly different aerodynamic package. Thanks to these changes, the car’s 0–60 mph time was decreased to 2.8 seconds, and top speed was quoted as a mind-boggling 248 mph.

Produced in January of 2005, this particular S7 Twin Turbo was finished in Black Metallic paint with a matching black interior and was outfitted with polished wheels and a GPS navigation system. It remained with its first owner until 2012, when it was sold to its second owner, in whose care it resided in a collection of modern supercars.

Under the stewardship of its first owner, the car had been returned to Saleen and upgraded with the desirable Competition Package. Horsepower was yet again raised to 850, and the car was fitted with revised front and rear diffusers, an upgraded suspension, and a massive rear wing to help manage the car’s power and performance.

The car is said to be in virtually as-new condition and an absolute joy to drive. Accompanying it is an S7 owner’s manual and a piece of S7-branded luggage. Furthermore, the car is documented by a copy of its original window sticker and a Letter of Authenticity from Saleen, confirming that this particular car is the only S7 Twin Turbo with these exact colors and options.

One of the most compelling American automobiles built thus far into the 21st century, the Saleen S7 proved that Saleen was capable of much more than building hot-rodded Mustangs and could truly play with the big boys on the world stage. Not only did the S7 make a big impact on the street, but it brought Saleen great success in racing with class wins at both the 12 Hours of Sebring and 24 Hours of Le Mans. The only S7 Twin Turbo built to this particular configuration and believed to be the lowest mileage S7 Twin Turbo in existence, it goes without saying that this is truly a spectacular automobile in all regards. For the individual with an unquenchable taste for horsepower, it would be difficult to make a better choice.

Vehicle Overview
1987 FORD MUSTANG SALEEN, 33K MILES, 5.0L, UNTOUCHED STOCK ORIGINAL, VERY CLEAN, 5SPD

Up for sale is my 1987 Ford Mustang Saleen hatchback. No clone here, this is the real deal. It is car #45 of 278 Saleen Mustangs made in 1987. It has 33,000 original miles and has never been modified, wrecked or abused in any way, shape or form. I have had several Saleen’s over the years and it is the nicest one I have seen in a very long time. I searched long and hard to find this car and the only reason I am selling it is because I recently purchased a 1993 Cobra R and needed the parking space but still could not part with the Saleen and then 2 weeks ago I bought a 2000 Cobra R also so now the Saleen needs to find a new home.

ebay_2015_87-0045_1217_0010

It is 1 of 2 Black Saleens built in 1987 with a factory sunroof which is a pretty rare option by itself. It is a 2 owner car from new and I have all the original Ford and Saleen paperwork including the Window sticker, books, records, manuals, Saleen sales brochures and more. The car was sold through Performance Autosport in 2002 with 5,000 miles on it to the second owner. I have several maintenance receipts from over the years and the majority of them were air conditioning repairs and yes it currently works and blows cold!!! The car even still has the original Escort radar detector that came as original equipment on all 1987 Saleen’s.

ebay_2015_87-0045_1217_0039

The paint and body are in excellent shape especially considering 1987 Ford black paint was terrible at best and it shines bright and shows great from every angle. The only blem worth mentioning on the whole car is the rear spoiler has some hairline cracks in various places which is very common. It could easy be fixed and made perfect but cars are only original once. The interior is like new and everything on the car works. Mechanically it is a please to drive and really is a flashback car. Everything is still tight and feels solid like only a low mileage car can. I have had lots of fox bodies since I was a kid and no matter how much time and money I spent on them you can never put them back together the same as when they left the factory.

Anyone who is a Mustang fan knows the name Steve Saleen. The Mustangs bearing his name have been special since the reinvention of performance back in the early 1980s and his work has been synonymous with high-quality horsepower since day one. As the Mustang evolved, so did Saleen’s performance, always pushing boundaries without sacrificing the other virtues that made Saleen Mustangs competition for BMWs more than Camaros. And perhaps most remarkably, Saleen’s expertise has made them the go-to people for Blue Oval performance, starting with the Saleen S7 supercar that now changes hands for nearly $1 million and including the Ford GT, which, shockingly enough, was subcontracted to Saleen for production. It seems that anything bearing the Saleen name is bound to be impressive in every way.

ebay_2015_99-0198_0016

Which brings us to this brilliant Chrome Yellow 1999 Saleen S281 SC. In 1999, Saleen was granted manufacturer status, which means this is not just a Ford Mustang with some aftermarket parts, but rather a fully engineered car that is recognized as a separate brand. Now, of course the Mustang DNA is obvious everywhere you look, but as usual, the Saleen upgrades have transformed it into something special. 1999 was also the Mustang’s 35th anniversary and the debut of the “New Edge” styling, all of which combine to make what is arguably the best-looking fourth-generation Mustang of all. Even more interesting, Saleen only built 421 cars in 1999, of which this is #198, and of those, only 64 were S281 SC coupes, so it’s hardly the kind of thing you’ll see on a regular basis. This particular S281 SC shows just 10,636 original miles and has just one owner from new, making it the very best kind of performance car to find. It has obviously been babied since day one, never used as a daily driver, and I’d wager that the number of times it has seen rain could be counted on one hand. You probably won’t find a nicer one.

ebay_2015_99-0198_0007

Chrome Yellow was one of the signature colors on the Saleens in 1999, and if you looked in any of the magazines of the day, you’d probably see reviews of a car very much like this coupe. There’s no denying that the finish is vivid, a three-stage paint that Ford used on a select few Mustangs that year. Saleen added their usual body kit, which smoothly blends Saleen and Ford parts to create a tasteful but dramatic look that’s also very functional. There’s a custom chin spoiler up front, complete with Saleen production number under the left headlight, a tradition from the very beginning. The side skirts visually lengthen the musclebound Mustang, and custom “gills” in the quarter panels, a special C-pillar was added, and a SALEEN-emblazoned rear bumper finishes the look. Oh, and there’s also a special wing that’s aggressive but not ridiculous, something that’s hard to avoid in the Mustang aftermarket. Of note, the ground-effects show correct Saleen part numbers and patents, proving that they’re the real deal and not fiberglass knock-offs and the subtle black Saleen graphics are about the only part of the car that are low-profile. Of course, it remains in excellent condition with so few miles, showing only one or two scuffs that have been touched up properly. It has never been hit, wrecked, or rusty, and the fit is remarkably good, as you’d expect from a car with an original price tag that was nearly 50% more than a stock Mustang GT.

ebay_2015_99-0198_0035

The interior was less dramatically modified but there are still plenty of Saleen-exclusive touches. The original black leather buckets are plenty supportive for the kind of driving this car enjoys and remain in excellent condition with only light comfort marks on the driver’s chair. The door panels, dashboard, and headliner are all pretty much as-new, and there are Saleen-logo floor mats protecting the carpets. Saleen added a set of special white-faced instruments to the Ford gauge panel, including a 200 MPH speedometer, which is probably not just hyperbole in this particular car. Custom pedals give it a racy look and the short-throw shifter for the 5-speed manual transmission feels more like a toggle switch with positive engagement and slick throws. Up top, there’s a special gauge pod with more white-faced gauges, this time for boost pressure and intercooler temperature, and the installation is so neat that you almost think that’s the way Ford did it originally. Of course, just about everything was standard on the Saleen, including power windows, locks, and mirrors, A/C (still ice cold!), and the Mach 460 sound system, which sounds fantastic, even today. The back seat has probably never hosted a visitor and the trunk looks new and includes a space-saver spare that’s never been down. If you want fresh, clean, and unabused, this Saleen delivers.

ebay_2015_99-0198_0058

The big upgrades are under the hood, and that’s where this particular Saleen gets its name. The 281 stands for 281 cubic inches, the displacement of Ford’s 4.6 liter SOHC V8. The SC part stands for SuperCharged, which comes complements of a roots-style blower sitting neatly atop the engine. Known for instant boost and big torque, it transforms the mild-mannered 4.6 into a torque factory capable of incinerating the tires through the first three gears. There’s a trick air-to-liquid intercooler with its own pump and cool little radiator with electric fans tucked under the nose, which helps ensure consistent air temperatures and keeps the engine happy with pump gas despite 10 PSI being forced down its throat. The result is 350 horsepower and 410 pounds of torque, which totally transforms the Saleen’s demeanor without hurting its user-friendliness. Turn the key and it starts instantly, thanks to custom tuning by Saleen’s experts (remember, they were an OEM at this point, so they had to get it right), and if you don’t get too aggressive, it’s perfectly happy to trundle around town and sit in traffic with the A/C blowing. But get it out on the open road and you’ll quickly learn that it makes full boost faster than you can get your foot on the floor and going full throttle in any of the first three gears generates fearsome acceleration and quite a bit of tire smoke, too. The remarkable thing is how docile it feels, yet the performance envelope is huge. Other Saleen upgrades include a custom exhaust with X-pipe and Borla stainless mufflers, oversized throttle body, and a special air filter assembly.

ebay_2015_99-0198_0064

The 5-speed manual gearbox doesn’t seem to mind the added torque churning through it and thanks to Saleen’s special shifter and upgraded clutch, it’s a joy to row it through the gears. 3.27 gears were standard equipment, and that’s what’s in this car, since with all that torque you don’t really need a lot of gear to get things moving. Saleen added select Racecraft suspension components, including springs, sway bars, and shocks, plus a few chassis reinforcements to sharpen steering feel. The Mustang already wore 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS, so no major upgrades were required there, and they look fantastic behind the gorgeous 18-inch Saleen alloy wheels, which are some of the most attractive wheels ever created. The original owner specified a standard gray finish on the wheels rather than chrome, and with this bright yellow car, that was absolutely the right choice. There are no scuffs or curb rash on the wheels and they’re fitted with giant 265/35/18 front and 295/35/18 rear Nitto performance radials that look to be only one step removed from the track.

“Power in the hands of a few” has been Saleen’s motto from the beginning and this awesome 1999 S281 SC delivers in a big way. Rare, gorgeous, fast, and polished, it’s a no-compromises performance car that’s also shockingly affordable. Call today!

08-0026DR S302 Sterling Edition
